Uriah Gibson aka RIAH is larger than life… with a calm demeanour but a staunch about him he will surely captivate any onlookers with his single Straight Rider’ and the debut EP ‘Lower case g’. With a style derivative of the UK drill scene, he spins his yarn over the charm of Latin influenced guitar riffs and deep brooding bass. Effortless with the flow and delivery his story is just beginning but the world will surely be watching.

Backed by the production of Coedie McCarthy (The Boy Of Many Colors), Dave ‘Dogg’ Atkins (Resin Dogs), Axiom Atkins ‘Moixa’ and the talented young man himself Uriah Gibson, RIAH’S debut three track EP ‘Lower case g’ explores the street level of life in southern QLD.

Recorded as part of the Indigenous music mentoring programme for Future Ancestor Media funded by Arts Qld, Queensland Government, RIAH was one of three artists guided through a development process over a span of four months where they were involved in all aspects of the production of both music and visuals.   RIAH is the second in a trio of releases following the debut EP from DELTOY last month.

‘Straight Rider’ is the first single to be lifted from the ‘Lower case g’ EP and is something to marvel. Produced by the young First Nation man himself this beat is nothing less than hot as hell, with a flow to match alongside a gritty film clip with the mob. It’s definitely going to make some waves down the east coast of so called ‘Australia’….

Produced by Axiom Atkins aka ‘Moixa’, the second track on the EP is ‘Onetake’.  Sitting perched above Tweed Heads RIAH spits some solid bars of gold and never fails to captivate even if it is just a one take … this one goes hard!

Over the smooth production of Coedie McCarthy aka ‘The Boy Of Many Colors’, RIAH effortlessly glides on the beat of ‘Muck Around’, the third and final track on the EP.  There’s something so real about the way he paints his world with his lyrics, as he speaks of life in the streets of his neighbourhood …. you can feel the energy.

Companion videos for each track on the EP have also been produced by Coedie McCarthy’s Onetime Productions who handled the videography.  Future Ancestor Media is a release body created under Onetime Productions to connect young indigenous artists with major platforms to the industry as a whole.
