Delton Ivey, aka DELTOY.  This First Nations man has something fierce to share. 

His debut single ‘STAY GRINNIN’ is so full of fire DELTOY could be mistaken for a freakin’ dragon!  Celebrating ECB, the East Coast Brotherhood, you can feel the connection and bond between all this deadly mob. With heavy bass and hard cinematography, there’s no chance to sleep while this tune is playing ‘cause it slaps hard!

As a young father and indigenous warrior DELTOY is proud and loud, representing ECB (East Coast Brotherhood), a collective of creative artists living in southern QLD.   He is all about family and culture whether that be ancient, traditional, or modern hip hop and his style is heavy bass and hard-hitting truth telling. 

‘STAY GRINNIN’ was produced by Axiom Atkins Aka ‘MOIXA’ and Dave ‘Dogg’ Atkins as part of ‘Future Ancestor Media’s’ debut project funded by Arts Qld, Queensland Government.  The much-appreciated grant supported the Indigenous music mentoring programme for Future Ancestor Media, the creative collaboration between Coedie McCarthy (Indigenoise, The Boy Of Many Colors) and Dave ‘Dogg’ Atkins (Resin Dogs).  DELTOY was one of three artists guided through a development process over a span of four months where they were involved in all aspects of the production of both music and visuals.

‘STAY GRINNIN’ is the first song lifted from DELTOY’S debut three track EP ‘FAMILY’.  Based on what it means to be family, the songs on the EP explore the different family groups he is a part of and draws on for inspiration and energy every day.  Track 2 is ‘BABY BOY’, a tune about DELTOY’S first born baby boy.  He sings loving praise to his boy while telling a story of his own youth, speaking of the hardships and harsh realities of growing up as an indigenous child in this country.  The final track on the EP is ‘NOT ONE OF US’ which features fellow ECB artist WILL. These deadly rhythms over a fast-paced drill beat will surely get you in a wild mood and they sing about the loyalty, respect and honour held within their mob. Companion videos for each track on the EP have also been produced.
