Will Paulson aka WILL, the younger brother of the acclaimed JK47 (Jacob Paulson) is definitely made from the same cloth!
The world better be ready because this young First Nation man has wisdom beyond his years and some energy coming our way. Representing ECB (East Coast Brotherhood) a collective of creative artists living in southern QLD he is just one of the many amazingly talented youth the world is yet to discover.
With a voice that you just want to listen to and a message of empowerment of community, his potential is seemingly limitless on his debut single ‘Dont wana do this’. What a tune, this one got that energy! Featuring fellow ECB Mc Nate G…this duo always delivers the dope-ness and this one is no exception. Staunch as a couple of Silverback’s they come in with that unmistakeable rhythm and flow. One for the ages no doubt!
WILL’s debut EP ‘Theres A Will Theres A Way’ explores what it is to be a young black man living in South Tweed. WILL raps about the inner journey of finding his place in the world, the importance of culture and community to help guide you, and the strength of his people.
Produced by Coedie McCarthy this EP came about as part of Future Ancestor Media and Onetime Productions first artist development project which was funded by Arts Qld, Queensland Government. As part of the Indigenous music mentoring programme Coedie McCarthy (The Boy Of Many Colors) and Dave ‘Dogg’ Atkins (Resin Dogs) guided three artists through a development process over a span of four months where they were involved in all aspects of the production of both music and visuals. WILL is the final in a trio of releases following the debut EP’s from DELTOY and RIAH.
On the second track on the EP ‘Done Wid The Games’ WILL raps about being fed up. Too long he has been played but now is time for business. Things have shifted and he is breaking out. Final track is ‘Off Limits’ feat. NATE G and every time we see these two together dope things happen! They speak about the hardships of growing up as a young man. They talk about their mob ECB, with rhymes too hot to handle, don’t touch!
Companion videos for each track on the EP have also been produced by Coedie McCarthy’s Onetime Productions who handled the videography. Future Ancestor Media is a release body created under Onetime Productions to connect young indigenous artists with major platforms to the industry as a whole.
