Indigenous Australian Hip Hop act INDIGENOISE are excited to be releasing their debut album ‘Old Ways New Age’ through Hydrofunk Records on Friday November 2.

Recorded at Hydrofunk HQ the album was produced by band member Coedie McCarthy and co-mixed by Justin Tresidder and Dave Atkins. ‘Old Ways New Age’ infuses sounds from the ancient past and the modern now. The name describes the mission that INDIGENOISE have embarked on, which is to bring the much-needed knowledge of the ancestors forward into the new world, acting as a voice for all tribes young and old. With a Hip Hop backbone the album floats through many genres including trap, bass, tribal flow and psychedelia.

The band have also released the fourth single from the album ‘One Mob’ and the companion video.  ‘One Mob’ is the celebration of all people of earth. ‘We may be separated by race, religion and sexuality but we are united as human beings. One Mob is our anthem to sing up EVERY human’s experience.’  The music video is also a collection of just that. With people from all over the world and all walks of life being proud of who they are and representing themselves with love.

The album features the band’s stunning debut single ‘Wildfire’ which reached #1 on the triple j unearthed Electronic and Hip Hop charts, and an impressive #4 on the overall Chart days after it was uploaded in July 2017. It also features the follow-up single ‘Euphoria’, and third single ‘The New Code’ which was the band’s ode to change.

Based in Byron Bay, INDIGENOISE are a clique of Indigenous poets, artists, producers, musicians and practitioners. The five-piece featuring Coedie McCarthy, Minjarrah Jarrett, Roslyn Barnett, Jannali Doncaster and Benjamin Robinson, all who carry mixed ancestry, represent the  4 nations.

Giving voice to indigenous youth from all different backgrounds, INDIGENOISE have also taken audiences by storm with a show that powerfully brings together the worlds of traditional ceremony and dance with contemporary Hip Hop.

You can catch INDIGENOISE performing at Island Vibes on Friday October 26, Saturday October 27, and Sunday October 28, and at Dragon Dreaming on Saturday November 3.   The band will also be playing additional shows for AIME Australia on Friday November 16 at the Lismore Uni, and on Friday November 30 at the Rekindle spirit Block party in Goonellabah.
