New Single ‘Oliver Never Knew Sunshine’ out now
+ Melbourne launch Saturday April 1st
Kit Warhurst is best known as the drummer in seminal Australian group Rocket Science, but after the release of singles ‘Nothing In Melbourne’ and ‘Rose Red City’, is now a solo artist in his own right.
These first two singles filled the airwaves via Triple R, 3PBS and Double J, and now he’s back with a third song from his soon to be released solo album. ‘Oliver Never Knew Sunshine’ is a slice of wonderful guitar pop that belies its dark lyrical heart.
Oliver's tale is a common one. To others, Oliver chooses the wrong path, makes bad decisions and will never feel the sweet sunshine of success he craves. Little do they know it's the assumption that their own way of life is best for others, that quashes the dreams, creativity and spark of the Olivers of this world. But this song is a celebration of Oliver's growth. When Oliver stops listening to the judgement of others, he will succeed, and finally bask in the sun's glorious warmth. And then, much to the naysayers' disbelief, he will be just fine.

‘Oliver Never Knew Sunshine’ is released on Sunshine Club Records in support of Kit’s Debut Album ‘Colour Wheel’, which will be available for purchase HERE on Friday March 17th.
‘Colour Wheel’ was recorded in Melbourne where Kit both produced and played all the instruments on the record, capturing them in only one or two takes. The album was mixed by Jeremy Glover (Julian Casablancas &The Voidz, Crystal Castles, Liars, The Devastations) in Berlin. The result is an album drenched in irresistible melody, power pop choruses and '70s garage guitars, all propelled by Kit’s astute songwriting. It is also an honest, raw, sometimes heartbreaking, occasionally brutal, sometimes beautiful record.
In terms of Kit's musical growth, ‘Colour Wheel’ completes his picture.
Kit launches ‘Colour Wheel’ on Saturday the 1st of April at Easy Street Concert Hall in Collingwood with his band featuring Brooke Penrose on drums and Alex Gray on bass, with special guest Kate Alexander.
